Free and Low-Cost Training
Herbalista Free School - The most comprehensive free herbal education currently available. They are getting ready to relaunch their Herbal Foundations course in February 2026 with promise of more courses to follow. In the meantime, for a low monthly contribution to the project sustaining members can access their library of recorded classes and toolkit.
CommonWealth Holistic Herbalism - They offer a few free courses and allow you to join their community and Q&A sessions. Their Herbal Community Care Toolkit is a great course covering the basics of mutual aid herbalism and is available at a low cost or discounted to free for those who otherwise couldn't access training. For more comprehensive training they offer one of the lowest payment plans at $25/month for their Family Herbalist program.
Herb First Aid - 7Song - Recordings of a very thorough course by reknowned herbalist, 7Song. An amazingly valuable resource for anyone doing work in street medicine or first aid.
Free and Low-Cost Herbal Care
Jessye Finch - An herb farmer and herbalist who works on a sliding scale. Limited free virtual clinic appointments are also available to Canadians.
Pacific Rim College - A Canadian school that offers free herbal and holistic nutrition consultations.
Bloom - A student clinic is run once per month with a $25 consultation fee. Based in Halifax.
Ithaca Free Clinic - Providing free care by herbalists and other professionals in Ithaca, New York.
